SPECIFICATIONS
Our Aluminum potassium sulfate meets Chinese national standards, as well as European and American standards.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Odor: Odorless, slightly sweet with an astringent taste. Density: The relative density of its dodecahydrate is about 1.75-1.76 g/cm³ (20°C).
Melting point: The dodecahydrate melts at about 92.5°C, but this process is accompanied by rapid loss of crystallization water.
Solubility: Easily soluble in water (solubility about 140 g/L at 20°C), easily soluble in glycerol, but insoluble in ethanol.
Hydrolysis properties: Aqueous solutions are acidic (pH about 4.2 for 1% solution, about 3.3 for 0.2 mol/L), and hydrolysis leads to the formation of gelatinous aluminum hydroxide precipitate.
Thermal stability: Decomposes gradually upon heating. Loses 9 molecules of crystallization water at about 60-65°C, and completely loses the crystallization water to become a white powder at about 200°C.
APPLICATION
Mainly used as a water treatment coagulant, food leavening agent (such as for fried dough sticks and vermicelli), astringent hemostatic in medicine, textile mordant, papermaking sizing agent, and laboratory analytical reagent.
STORAGE
Store in a dry, ventilated, and clean warehouse. It is essential to use sealed containers to prevent moisture and rain. The recommended storage temperature is usually between 2°C and 40°C, and it should be kept away from toxic and hazardous substances.
