Physical and Chemical Properties
Sodium hypophosphite is a colorless monoclinic crystal or pearl like crystal or white crystalline powder, easily deliquescent, odorless, and salty in taste. Easy to dissolve in water, ethanol, and glycerol, slightly soluble in and  water. The aqueous solution is alkaline. As a strong reducing agent, it can reduce metals such as gold, silver, nickel, chromium, cobalt, etc. from salts to metallic states. When exposed to strong heat or mixed with oxidants such as , it will explode. Under normal pressure, heating and evaporating sodium hypophosphite solution can also cause explosions, so evaporation should be carried out under reduced pressure.
In the United States, sodium hypophosphite, hypophosphite, and several other hypophosphates are classified as Class I precursor chemicals and are subject to regulation.

Application:
a.Sodium hypophosphite is used as a reducing agent in electroplating solutions for electroless nickel plating.
b.In the chemical and pharmaceutical industries as a reducing agent.
c.In the food industry as a preservative and antioxidant.

Storage
Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Section 8. Exposure Controls / Personal Protection Contains no substances with occupational exposure limit values.Supplier and Manufacturer of Sodium Hypophosphite CAS: 7681-53-0Supplier and Manufacturer of Sodium Hypophosphite CAS: 7681-53-0Supplier and Manufacturer of Sodium Hypophosphite CAS: 7681-53-0
