Physical and Chemical Properties:
Ethyl acetate (systematically ethyl ethanoate, commonly abbreviated EtOAc, ETAC or EA) is the organic compound with the formula CH3−COO−CH2−CH3, simplified to C4H8O2. This colorless liquid has a characteristic sweet smell (similar to pear drops) and is used in glues, nail polish removers, and in the decaffeination process of tea and coffee. Ethyl acetate is the ester of ethanol and acetic acid; it is manufactured on a large scale for use as a solvent.

Application:
1. As an industrial solvent, it is used in coatings, adhesives, ethyl cellulose, artificial leather, felt colorants, artificial fibers, and other products.

2.As an adhesive, it is used to produce printing ink and artificial pearls.

3.As an extractant, it is used in the production of drugs, organic acids, and other products.

4. As the spice raw material, it is used as the main raw material of pineapple, banana, strawberry and other fruit essence and whisky, cream and other spices. It can be used as spice and artificial spice for Baijiu blending.

5. Extractant, which extracts many compounds (phosphorus, tungsten, arsenic, cobalt) from aqueous solutions.

6. Organic solvents. When sugar is separated, it is used as a reference material for calibrating thermometers.

7. Verify bismuth, gold, iron, mercury, oxidants, and platinum.

8. Determination of bismuth, boron, gold, iron, molybdenum, platinum, potassium, and thallium.

Storage:
 It has a specific gravity of 0.933 and a flash point of -8° C (closed cup) and is highly flammable.  It should therefore be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area that is free from the risk of ignition.  For transportation purposes, it is classified as packing group II and hazard class 3 and it is an irritant.
