PHYSICAL PROPERTIES 
Magnesium oxide (MgO), or magnesia, is a white hygroscopic solid mineral that occurs naturally as periclase and is a source of magnesium . It has an empirical formula of MgO.Pure MgO is not conductive and has a high resistance to electric current at room temperature.

APPLICATION  
1. One of the main uses of magnesium oxide is as a flame retardant. Traditional flame retardant materials widely use flame retardant mixtures composed of halogenated polymers or halogenated flame retardants.

2. Another use of magnesium oxide is as a neutralizing agent. Magnesium oxide is alkaline and has good adsorption performance, and can be used as a neutralizing agent for acidic waste gas, wastewater treatment, heavy metal and organic waste liquid treatment, etc

3. Fine pressed magnesium oxide can be used as an optical coating.

4. Used for climbing stones and can absorb sweat from hands

5. Mainly used for preparing oral medication to neutralize excessive stomach acid. Commonly used preparations include: magnesium emulsion - emulsion; Magnesium cover sheet - each sheet contains 0.1g of MgO,; Acid making powder - a powder made by mixing magnesium oxide and sodium bicarbonate.

6. Lightweight magnesium oxide is mainly used as a raw material for preparing ceramics, enamel, refractory crucibles, and refractory bricks. It is also used as a polishing agent, adhesive, and paper filler, as well as a promoter and activator for chloroprene rubber and fluororubber.
