Physical and Chemical Properties:
Acetic acid,systematically named ethanoic acid, is a colourless liquid organic compound with the chemical formula CH3COOH (also written as CH3CO2H or C2H4O2). When undiluted, it is sometimes called glacial acetic acid. Acetic acid has a distinctive sour taste and pungent smell. In addition to household vinegar, it is mainly produced as a precursor to polyvinyl acetate and cellulose acetate. It is classified as a weak acid since it only partially dissociates in solution, but concentrated acetic acid is corrosive and can attack the skin.

Application
1. Ice acetic acid has a boiling point. Due to its high physical properties at the melting point, it can be directly dissolved into vinegar by adding water, reducing the production cost of vinegar, and having stable quality as vinegar.

2. Acetic acid, as a chemical solvent, can also be used for space disinfection. Some breeding fungi often appear in the cultivation of edible mushrooms, causing significant pollution that is difficult to eliminate.

3. Used for synthesizing vinyl acetate, widely used in the production of vinylon, polyvinyl alcohol, vinyl copolymer resins, adhesives, coatings, etc.

4. Pharmaceuticals and dyes. In industrial chemical reactions, pesticides and other important organic synthesis materials are used as solvents.

5. Photopharmaceutical manufacturing, cellulose acetate, textile printing and dyeing, and rubber industries are also widely used. Solvents for manufacturing plastics, dyes, photography, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and other organic synthetic materials.

Storage
Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Keep from contact with oxidizing materials. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances. Do not store near alkaline substances. Acetic acid should be kept above its freezing point of 62F(17C) to allow it to be handled as a liquid. It will contract slightly on freezing. Freezing and thawing does not affect product quality.
